Dr. Boisvert grew up in Shrewsbury, MA, attended Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, and graduated cum laude from Wellesley College in 1998. She went on to complete medical school at UMass Chan Medical School in 2003, and her residency in Orthopedic Surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center in 2009. The final step in training was the completion of the Thomas Jefferson University Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at the Rothman Orthopedic Institute in Philadelphia, PA in 2010. This final year included the opportunity to not only specialize in arthroscopic surgery, but also to work with the medical team for several of the surrounding high schools, NCAA Division 1 universities, and professional sports teams. Dr. Boisvert joined Worcester County Orthopedics in 2024 and is thrilled to bring her expertise back home.
Dr. Boisvert’s practice is based on providing individualized care for each patient, making sure that she understands that each patient may have a different goal of treatment, either competing in sports at high levels, or just being able to make it through the day without pain, and everything in between. She is pleased to offer minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, as well as hip and knee replacement surgery, and fracture care. She has been offering same-day surgery to appropriate patients for knee and hip replacement for nearly 10 years, allowing them to recover in the comfort of their own home without the need for an overnight stay in the hospital. She finds great joy in hearing the stories of how these surgeries have improved her patients’ quality of life and the success they have had in returning them to their chosen activities.
Dr. Boisvert has built a life of fun and exciting experiences outside of medicine as well.
She was able to continue her field hockey career at the collegiate level at Wellesley College, dance with the Wellesley College Dancers after nearly 15 years of classical ballet training, participate in equestrian sports for 35+ years, complete 5 marathons, and summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2003. Today, Dr. Boisvert and her husband Paul are the biggest cheer leaders for their 4 boys, William, Patrick, Ryan and Owen, who keep them more than busy in their “free” time!
